Mobile & Software App Intellectual Property (IP) Lawyer
IP. Intellectual Property. Apps. Mobile Apps. Licensing. Protect. Mobile App Licensing Intellectual Property Protection Attorney Andrew S. Bosin counsels both mobile app developers and companies seeking to have apps built on how to protect themselves legally in app contracts.
First things first. Do not begin working on developing an app for a client or give your developer any wire frames or other intellectual property unless you have a contract in writing which clearly spells out the duties, right and obligations of the parties. If you are a developer you are going to want to make sure that you are going to get paid and when. As for the client getting the app developed you will want to put in deadlines with milestones having to be met before payments are made to the developer at different intervals. Just make sure that both the time deadlines and milestones to be met are reasonable and comport with the understanding of both parties. I would also make sure that wire frames are created so that everyone knows exactly what is being built. You don’t want to spend time and money developing an app that at the end of the day the client says was improperly built or not what they had asked for.
Andrew charges flat rate fixed legal fees for most legal engagements.
